Encourage organized activities and team building among all stakeholders: The first necessary component for socialization is the time to do so. Organized activities and team building allow students to work together toward common philanthropic or other goals. It should be noted that this occurs from “the top down,” so a school faculty that work as a team models for a pupil community to do so as well.

Role model social skills within the classrooms: It should not be assumed that all children know and can employ social skills. Think again of that child that was an only child and solely interacted with adults. When they arrive in school, how are they supposed to learn how to interact with those twenty years younger than anyone that they talked with previously? Lessons should include from the outset socialization, greetings, and conflict resolution skills.
